Psalm of the fast lane….

FROM OUR OVERSTOCKED ARCHIVES
PSALM OF THE FAST LANE

SAM SMITH, 1986

The Lord is my mentor; I shall want it all.

He feedeth me in world-class restaurants and leadeth me beside the sparkling mineral waters.

He restoreth my house and bringeth me in the path of good access.

Yea, though I jog through the valley of the shadow of high rises I shall fear no viable competition; thy clout and thy bottom line shall comfort me.

He shall prepare a game plan against mine enemies, and shall bloweth dry my head and my Volvo shall runneth over to Bloomingdales.

Surely perks and power lunches shall follow me all the days of my life and 1 shall dwell in an upscale neighborhood forever and ever.

For thine is the power and the glory -

But not for long, sucker. I’m right behind you.

The experimental investigation of these hypotheses involved forty years of inbreeding for tameness in thirty or so generations of silver foxes. The results are impressive. On the one hand, foxes that were bred for tameness also tended to share a number of other phenotypic traits. Unlike their feral cousins, they tend to evolve floppy ears, brown moulting, grey hairs, short curly tails, short legs and piebald coloration (in particular, white flashes).

EL ALTO wins runner up prize at Ed Wood Film Festival in Albany, NY

Filed under: Prosperity — dom @ 7:41 pm

Proud post from Sunny Arizona where I vacation. On October 4th, I drove up to my old burnout grounds in Albany, NY, where i represented El Alto at an award ceremony for a film festival put together by a good friend Peter. Mike and I did a piece called ‘Little Haiku You,” for a fantastic microsode (shorty short film) written and directed by a talented and dear friend Jackie Doll. We were the runner up in ‘best film music’ catagory. We lost to a band who did the music for what was essentially a long music video, making it somewhat difficult to compete for various reasons, primarily the more creative limitations for getting enough of our piece heard to perhaps be more satisfactorily received (?)….anyway…. We were proud as hell to do so well, and work on an exciting film. Jackie is very talented, and we know that we will be working hopefully with her very soon, and in this genre. Sorry for the sloppy/lazy post…really tired writing this at a hotel computer terminal inside some golf store in Socttsdale…(uuuuuggg…)
